"I remembered this old mini-skateboard I've had around for years. It
was currently being used under one of my plants as a drip guard. I saw
it and realized it would make a great hand plane. I toyed with the
idea of cutting a hand hole but I thought it would work better with
some kind of hand strap. I bought a synthetic leather cuff at a thrift
shop for $3 and stapled it with rust proof staples to the board. I
added a lightning bolt with a sharpie and waxed and oiled the board.
Can't wait to get out in the surf with it. Thought you'd like it."
