Handplane progress

did some more painting on the handplanes yesterday. putting on basecoats and sealer and then some more waiting. Both of the the white boards are still waiting for their final paintjobs. Here's what i got so far:

Biiiiiig doublehander hanplane made from the wood of the little bed i had made for our youngest daughter Liz where she slept in next to us when she was a baby (now she is 2 years old). So it got a little girls painting on one side. Daisy helped me paint the side that has the eyes on. The heart was in the original bed.

but hey, who needs hanplanes anyway when you can pick up trays like this from the thriftstore?

How nice!

I like the idea of how your kid was lying in her bed and from behind that wooden panel was looking at the 'big world' out there. And now you are gonna lie in the sea looking out from behind that wooden panel at that same 'big world' out there/
I hope it will give you everything you need to recharge for the next day(s) of life and all the new impressions to come, just as it did for your little girl.
